Fibroscan (transient elastography) is the fastest, most painless way to check your liver health — no needles, no hospital admission, results in 10 minutes. If your doctor has recommended a Fibroscan, the next question is almost always: how much does it cost in Delhi, and where should I go? This page answers both.
In 2026, Fibroscan costs in Delhi NCR typically range from ₹2,800 to ₹7,000, depending on the diagnostic centre, the machine used, and whether the CAP score (liver fat measurement) is included. EVE Healthcare partners with NABL-accredited centres across Delhi, Noida, and Gurgaon — so you can compare prices, check availability, and book in under 2 minutes.

Prices verified June 2026. Hospital rates are indicative and may vary. All EVE partner centres are NABL-accredited. CAP = Controlled Attenuation Parameter — measures liver fat in addition to liver stiffness.
Quick answer: For most patients, a Fibroscan with CAP (the full test) at a reputable standalone lab costs ₹3,500–₹5,000 in Delhi. This gives your doctor both fibrosis stage and fatty liver grade without hospital waiting times or costs.
Where These Prices Come From
The price ranges on this page are compiled from EVE Healthcare's active partner network across Delhi NCR, based on Fibroscan bookings processed through EVE Healthcare during 2025–2026. Our team contacts partner centres directly each quarter to verify current pricing — we do not pull prices from third-party aggregators or hospital websites.
Methodology: Prices reflect rates available for direct booking through EVE Healthcare at NABL-accredited standalone diagnostic labs and diagnostic chains. Hospital rates are excluded — hospitals typically charge 40–80% above standalone lab rates for equivalent scan quality. The "Lowest" reflects the floor price at EVE partner centres. The "Average" reflects the median across our active network. The "Premium" reflects the upper range at larger NABL-accredited chains in South Delhi and Gurgaon.
Prices reviewed quarterly. Last verified: June 2026. Next review: September 2026.

How to choose:
- Government hospital: Best if cost is the absolute priority and you can wait. Limited same-day availability. CAP score may not be available at all facilities
- CGHS centre: Best for Central Government employees and pensioners — fixed government rates. Bring your CGHS Smart Card and specialist referral
- EVE partner centre: Best for most patients — same-day availability, CAP always included, transparent pricing, NABL-accredited, no OPD queue
- Private hospital: Best if you need a hepatologist consultation packaged with the scan, or require complex liver management alongside the test
What Affects the Fibroscan Cost in Delhi?
1. Basic Fibroscan vs Fibroscan with CAP The standard Fibroscan measures liver stiffness in kilopascals (kPa) — this shows the degree of fibrosis (scarring). A Fibroscan with CAP also measures liver fat content (steatosis) — critical for fatty liver disease, diabetes, or metabolic syndrome. Most hepatologists in Delhi now request the CAP score routinely. If your doctor has ordered it for NAFLD or hepatitis monitoring, always confirm the centre offers CAP before booking.
2. Machine generation Fibroscan devices are made by Echosens. The latest generation (FibroScan 502 Touch with XL probe) handles patients with higher BMI more accurately. Older machines and non-Echosens alternatives exist at some lower-cost centres. Ask your centre: "Is this an Echosens FibroScan device with XL probe?" — especially if your BMI is above 30.
3. What is included in the price The base price at most centres covers the scan and a written report. Some centres include a gastroenterologist review at no extra cost — others charge separately. At EVE partner centres, the price quoted includes the report with no hidden fees.
4. Location within Delhi NCR Centres in South Delhi and Cyber City Gurgaon tend to be priced 10–20% higher than equivalent centres in West Delhi, Noida Sector 18–62, or East Delhi. Quality at well-rated NABL-accredited labs across Delhi NCR is equivalent regardless of area.
Who Needs a Fibroscan in Delhi?
Your hepatologist or gastroenterologist may recommend a Fibroscan if you have any of the following:
- Fatty liver (NAFLD / NASH) — even if picked up incidentally on a routine ultrasound
- Elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST) — on a blood test, especially if persistent over multiple readings
- Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C — to stage fibrosis and monitor treatment response
- Diabetes or metabolic syndrome with suspected liver involvement
- Regular or heavy alcohol use — to monitor liver damage over time
- Abnormal liver function tests (LFT) without a clear diagnosis
- Obesity with suspected fatty liver — particularly in patients with BMI above 27
- Follow-up after liver biopsy or hepatitis treatment — Fibroscan is far easier to repeat regularly than biopsy
Fibroscan is also used for annual monitoring in high-risk patients — its non-invasive, painless nature makes it far more practical for repeat testing than any alternative.

How to Prepare for a Fibroscan Test
Preparation is simple — but the rules matter for accurate results.
- Fast for at least 2–3 hours before the test. Food — especially a fatty meal — temporarily raises liver stiffness and can make fibrosis appear worse than it actually is. Water is fine
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the scan. Alcohol inflames the liver and significantly elevates stiffness scores — even a small amount the night before can affect results
- Take your regular medications as normal with a small amount of water. Do not skip doses unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing. The probe is placed on your right side and upper abdomen — you need easy access to that area without removing much clothing
- Arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration. The scan itself takes only 10–15 minutes. You can resume all normal activities immediately afterwards
If you are being tested for liver health related to diabetes or metabolic syndrome, your doctor may also request a fasting blood sugar before the Fibroscan. Confirm with your referring doctor before your appointment.
Understanding Your Fibroscan Results
Your Fibroscan report gives you two key numbers. Here is what they mean.

Liver stiffness (kPa) — fibrosis score
|
kPa Score |
METAVIR Stage |
What It Means |
|
2 – 7 kPa |
F0–F1 |
Normal liver or minimal fibrosis. No significant scarring detected. |
|
7 – 9.5 kPa |
F1–F2 |
Mild fibrosis. Liver is starting to show some scarring — lifestyle changes recommended. |
|
9.5 – 12 kPa |
F2–F3 |
Moderate fibrosis. Significant scarring present. Hepatologist will advise on management. |
|
12 – 17 kPa |
F3–F4 |
Severe fibrosis or early cirrhosis. Specialist follow-up is important. |
|
>17 kPa |
F4 |
Advanced cirrhosis. Urgent specialist consultation recommended. |
CAP score (dB/m) — liver fat grade
|
CAP Score |
Steatosis Grade |
Fat in Liver |
|
< 238 dB/m |
S0 |
Normal — minimal or no fat in the liver. |
|
238 – 259 dB/m |
S1 |
Mild steatosis — 5–33% of liver cells affected by fat. |
|
260 – 290 dB/m |
S2 |
Moderate steatosis — 33–66% affected. Lifestyle changes recommended. |
|
> 290 dB/m |
S3 |
Severe steatosis — more than 66% affected. Hepatologist review recommended. |
Your Fibroscan result should always be interpreted alongside your blood tests (LFT, ALT, AST) and clinical history. A single result does not paint the full picture — your treating doctor will combine all findings before advising on next steps.
Fibroscan vs Liver Biopsy — Which Should You Choose?
|

10–15 minutes, outpatient |
30–60 minutes; observation period after |
|
Recovery |
Immediate — resume normal activities |
Rest required for 4–6 hours or overnight |
|
Accuracy (F2–F4) |
85–90% for moderate to severe fibrosis |
Gold standard (100% — direct tissue sample) |
|
Repeat testing |
Easy and safe to repeat regularly |
Risks increase with frequent repetition |
|
Cost in Delhi 2026 |
₹2,800 – ₹7,000 |
₹8,000 – ₹25,000 (procedure + hospital) |
|
When biopsy is still needed |
Inconclusive Fibroscan; rare liver conditions |
When exact histology is required for diagnosis |
Bottom line: For most patients with fatty liver disease, hepatitis B/C monitoring, or routine liver health checks, Fibroscan is the recommended first-line test. A landmark study from AIIMS Delhi found Fibroscan could accurately replace liver biopsy in over 70% of patients, with more than 90% accuracy for detecting significant fibrosis.
